Liam Payne has spoken candidly about his mental health struggles in a touching video for fans, admitting he doesn’t feel so great at the moment.
The One Direction star, 29, has been open over recent years about going off the rails when the band went on hiatus, having checked into a US rehab centre to get him back on track with his sobriety.
Liam has said previously that he ‘didn’t recognise’ himself as he struggled to cope with post-1D life.
Now, the Strip That Down hitmaker has revealed he’s been diagnosed with ‘a couple of conditions’.
Discussing his difficulty with staying sober in what he describes as ‘manic’ moments, he took to his Instagram Story.
‘So, I mean, I’ve filmed a bunch of these over time and deleted them but I don’t know if this is the right time…’, he began in the video.

‘I mentioned I’ve been diagnosed with a couple of conditions. Not to go too much into detail, but one of them that I have, basically, there are a lot of manic things in my life which you guys saw.
‘But, the other side of it, that kind of feels like when I would lose my sobriety, in these moments that I was super low.
‘I kind of felt like that today.’
He went on to say he’s now able to ‘identify’ moments when he’s not feeling so great.
‘Luckily, I’ve got some amazing people around me that look after me but I’m sure they can see it in me too that I’m just not really here.’
The boyband star concluded: ‘I just wanted to put this out here anyway, because I know there are probably a few people who have the same thing, maybe you don’t even know it sometimes.
‘But, just so you know, you’re not the only one.’

Liam added some text to his video, part of which read: ‘I’m coming to see how fortunate I am to be in the position I’m in… and I wanna give any of you struggling the gift I was given by sharing some of the things I learned from specialists while I was away.
‘First thing I did every day was check in and it’s important you don’t bottle up how you feel. Feeling is one of the amazing gifts we have and I blocked things up for so long it made me sick and lash out…
‘Notice it, allow it to happen… let it pass through.’
The Familiar singer was met with a whole load of love from fans after opening up.
‘He’s the best person ever. I see how far you came Liam and I love you for that. You don’t understand how much this means to me’, tweeted one adoring fan.
‘I’m so proud of him for speaking so openly and honestly like this. Talking about mental health is so important and no one should feel like they are alone in their struggle. Love you Liam’, penned another.

Liam’s candid Insta vid comes as he starts to slowly make a return to the spotlight after keeping a low profile amid his mental health woes.
In his latest YouTube video, the dad-of-one – who shares son Bear with ex Cheryl – recalled his bombshell Logan Paul podcast interview, which saw him become a meme for all the wrong reasons.
Liam praised his former girlfriend Cheryl and their six-year-old son for giving him the chance to ‘go and get well’ after he became ‘angry’ in his own career and started to ‘take it out on everybody else’.
Of course, the infamous podcast episode saw Liam detail ‘fights’ in the 1D days, hit out at Zayn Malik, and make interesting claims about the X Factor band being formed ‘around him’.
Upon reflection, he added in his latest address to fans: ‘There is a point when you hit rock bottom and you realise you have got to do something different as whatever you are doing right now isn’t working for you. I was in bad shape up until that point.

‘Honestly, more than anything I want to say thank you to Bear and his mum for giving me a little bit of freedom to go and get well. There is no point trying to be a dad when you have nothing to teach.
‘I feel like I have a grip on life now. After I got back out, that process had worked for me, but there were still some little bits left that I kind of had to deal with myself.’
