Peter Andre seems to be transitioning from pop icon to movie star, and the trailer for his latest venture is very intriguing – albeit a little confusing.
His new short film Last Respects is a dark comedy set in 1979, and the 50-year-old is playing an Australian doctor.
He lived down under for most of his childhood, so he’s got plenty to base the former off, and his wife Emily Andre, 33, is a doctor. Although, after watching the trailer we don’t imagine the character was in any way inspired by her!
Introducing the teaser he wrote: ‘❗️ WARNING ❗️ violence and bad language so block your kids’ ears. First look at the trailer for the brand new award-winning short film Last Respects.’
The trailer begins quite randomly by quoting French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. ‘One lives one’s death, one dies one’s life,’ ominously appears on the screen.
We’re then introduced to a man on a ventilator machine, and three tough-looking men surrounding the death bed making threats and spilling their guts.

It’s at this point we met Peter’s character, who is wearing a black wig that has a kind of Shaggy from Scooby Doo vibe.
He tells the now-fearful men: ‘That’s right, I have your grubby full-on confessions,’ while waving around a phone.
Things quickly escalate as suddenly he’s holding a giant knife, and telling the men to ‘turn around and face the f*****g window.’
His aggressive voice is definitely a far removal from when he softly croons Mysterious Girl.
Later in the scene, Peter who is simply described as ‘the doctor’ during the credits is holding a handgun.
It’s safe to say this character is not your average NHS worker.

His fans showed support in the comments section, although some were a little surprised by the expletives and hairstyle.
One wrote: ‘OMG you made me jump Peter when you shouted and swore! Great acting as that is so unlike you in real life. Best of luck with the film.’
‘You sound great but why did they make you wear an odd looking wig?! Xx,’ enquired another.
It’s the 70s, of course.
He even had a celebrity supporter – former Westlife singer Brian McFadden wrote: ‘Great stuff pal. Looks like a blast.’
Pete previously told The Sun: ’I think people are going to be very, very shocked.
‘They’re going to watch this film and be like, “wow”, because he’s not expected to act in the way that he acts.’
This is not his only acting project – Pete has been steadily building his CV, and one of his recent projects was The Other Foot.
The film focused on racist Billy, who wakes up one day as a black man.
Pete plays his racist friend, and can be heard saying in the trailer: ‘All of yous, bloody scum.’
He also starred in SnapCatch with his son Junior Andre, which followed two teenagers searching for love online.
