Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls remained awkwardly silent as Susanna Reid and Andi Peters addressed his bizarre comment from a previous edition of the programme.
During Tuesday’s instalment, the retired MP, 56, made a serious faux pas after he asked Andi if he uses spray tan – leaving viewers pretty confused.
‘Spray tan Andi,’ Ed had said.
Clearly taken aback, TV star Andi gestured his arms as he quipped: ‘What do you think Ed?’
In an attempt to make light of the situation, Susanna interjected: ‘He didn’t want to presume.’
Viewers were quick to catch up onto the comment, with many questioning Ed’s words.

And on Wednesday, as the situation was brought up by Susanna during a segment with Andi, Ed instead chose to stay silent.
Ed began with ‘Andi is still in Rome,’ before Susanna quickly said: ‘No need for the spray tan this morning Andi! I expect the sun’s out isn’t it?’
As Ed laughed at the comment, Andi replied: ‘The sun’s out Susanna, the guns are out, and Ed is saying nothing at this moment in time.’
He continued by defending the presenter: ‘But Ed, I laughed a lot, you made me laugh.

‘Love you big man!’
Ed appeared to reply to him but was cut off by Andi explaining the competition rules.
After the comment on Tuesday, one viewer wrote: ‘Ed ball asking Andi if he uses spray tan is the funniest thing on the show since piers walked off.’
‘”Spraytan, Andi?” Nearly spat my coffee across the room,’ another added.
A third person weighed in: ‘Did Ed Balls really just ask Andi Peters if he has a SPRAY TAN??’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
