Francis Bourgeois and Niall Horan (what a duo) had quite the day when they met up to go trainspotting at Liverpool Street Station.

The 22-year-old train enthusiast has boomed on social media in recent years with hilarious fish-eye videos of him getting just a little bit excited over passing trains.

Now, the media personality has his own series on Channel 4 – and his most recent trainspotting guest was One Direction’s Niall Horan, 29.

In what ended up being a hilarious 10 minutes of the pair fumbling through their day on the tracks – with an extra track from Niall too – the pair didn’t even reach their destination.

Francis began the day with grand plans of heading from Liverpool Street Station with Niall to Harlow for some trainspotting.

Except, once the pair had met up – with Niall not in disguise after all, contrary to what Francis predicted – they got on a train that never left.

As they settled down for a scenic journey and chatted about Niall’s grandad, who the singer explained was one of the last steam train drivers in Ireland, their conversation was cut short by an announcement.

The train had been cancelled. Oh no!

Undefeated, they headed for another one – except, again, the train was cancelled.

To this, Niall roared with laughter, and Francis clapped his hands to his mouth in shock.

The musician joked: ‘I feel like I’m in The Office or something.’

Despite the chaos, Francis looked to be having the best day ever (Picture: Channel 4)

It was alright though – on to the next – as Francis sprinted up the platform followed by a limping Niall who said he’s got a ‘dodgy knee’.

While their dreams of Harlow were scuppered, the unfortunate pair headed for a third train – this time to Shenfield.

But, alas, this too was cancelled after the hopeful duo boarded for a third time, due to a trespasser.

Niall thought this was hilarious, as he let out a booming laugh in the carriage to the surprise of fellow passengers.

Finally, they got on a fourth train and zoomed out of London to Francis’ ‘surprise’ – a trip on a ‘Class 117’ train from the 1950s.

Finally, the pair made it to their (still moving) destination (Picture: Channel 4)

Niall even played Francis his new song, Heaven (Picture: Channel 4)

Hoping for some ‘tones’ – aka, train horn trumpeting – Niall and Francis request them from the driver, who happily obliged.

Even Niall had a go on the horn, making a noise the pair had just likened to sounding like ‘flatulence’.

Rounding off what looked like a happy day, Niall got his acoustic guitar out and played his new song, Heaven, while Francis looked out the window with his fish-eye lens on.

Francis said the song was ‘beautiful’.

    Cute.
