Celebrity Big Brother star India Willoughby has said she is being monitored by the Counter Terrorism Unit over a ‘credible death threat.’
The Loose Women star, 57, has previously spoken about receiving a vile ‘hand delivered’ threat to her life because she’s a member of the trans community, describing it as ‘like a horror film.’
Willoughby also revealed at the end of last year she felt suicidal due to constant transphobic trolling and said she didn’t feel it was ‘safe for me anymore.’
On Twitter on Tuesday, the TV star updated her followers and said she had suffered further shocking abuse and another death threat.
She wrote: I’m currently under the protection of the Counter Terrorism Unit due to a credible death threat. Ridiculous.
‘There is so much hate directed at the trans community – and it stems from the Gov and Brit media (not itv).’

In February, Willoughby said she had received a threatening letter that was proscribed under the 2000 Terrorism Act.
She wrote: ‘My accountant just called.
‘He’s received a letter today – hand delivered – no stamp. Threatening to kill me. Because I’m trans. Full of graphic detail about what they are going to do. Passed on to the police. This is what Brit media, the GC [gender-critical] movement and the gov have done.’

She continued: ‘[He] says it’s like a letter from a horror film. He’s obviously worried too, given how it was delivered.’

In 2018, Willoughby made history as the first trans woman to guest host an all-female panel show, when she joined the Loose Women ladies.
After that she went on to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 and is now a regular guest on Good Morning Britain.
