Woman thinks she’s found a face smiling back at her in a fried onion

A woman has shared a hilarious picture of the ‘face’ she spotted in an onion.

Alice Palmer, 29, purchased the vegetable from her local Nisa shop in Kirk Hallam, Derbyshire.

But after chopping it up and popping it in the frying pan, she realised there was something peering back at her.

She quickly snapped some pictures, showing what appears to be a round ‘face’ complete with big peering ‘eyes’.

Alice, from Ilkeston, Derby, likened it to a popular moon cartoon character, Luna, from Bear in the Big Blue House.

The show ran on Disney from 1997 to 2006, and featured the cartoon moon with characteristically large eyes.

Alice, who runs a food truck, Alice’s Hot Food, immediately made the connection.

‘I just laughed when I saw it,’ she said.

‘It instantly reminded me of the old TV programme.

‘I used to watch Bear in the Big Blue House.’

She shared the snaps on Facebook, where hundreds of users liked the post.

Earlier this year, a woman from Cornwall went viral after she discovered the ‘face’ of Jesus Christ staring at her in an empty pizza box.

Mum-of-two Kim Ellis had just finished off a Domino’s meat feast with her partner when she saw a leftover grease stain which looked uncannily similar to Jesus.

‘I just looked up and noticed a little face looking back at me and thought it was funny,’ Kim said.

‘My first thought was Jesus because of the flowing hair and beard.’

Her partner was out of the room when she spotted it, but he declared it ‘pizza Jesus’ when he came back in.

Bizarre as it may seem, an even stranger ‘food face’ was spotted late last year, when a Surrey man made himself a chicken korma only to be confronted with the face of former PM Boris Johnson.

Jonathan, from Leatherhead in Surrey, was preparing a chicken korma ready meal for a client he was caring for and arranged the plate so the rice and curry were separate.

But when he looked back, he suddenly realised ‘Boris’ was staring right at him with a rather lopsided grin formed by chicken pieces and wild rice hair.

Recalling the moment this curry creation of Boris was grinning back at him from the plate, he said: ‘I was preparing dinner for one of my clients at their home.

‘He said to me specifically he wanted the rice and curry kept separate.

‘When I went to pick up the plate, I saw it.

‘I said “oh it looks like a face. It looks like Boris”. He found it funny. He said it looked like him then said “well, I’m going to eat him now.”‘

Last but not least, earlier this month a man from Kent picked up a packet of bacon from Lidl, only to discover the rashers looked eerily similar to former One Directon star Harry Styles.

‘The whole pack came out looking like Harry Styles. Eight identical Harry Styles’ said Paul McInnes, from Maidstone.
