Selena Gomez admitted she regretted not maintaining relationships with co-stars from her time on Disney Channel.
The 30-year-old actress featured on the popular children’s show Wizards of Waverly Place as Alex Russo until the series wrapped in 2012.
She acted alongside other Disney alumni Jennifer Stone, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin and David DeLuise and recently revealed she wished she had stayed in touch with her former cast members.
Explaining her reasonings for distancing herself, the megastar reflected on her past during a podcast interview on the Wizards of Waverly Pod.
She told hosts Jennifer and David DeLuise: ‘I felt ashamed of the decisions that I made’.
Selena was seemingly referring to her mental health battles with anxiety and depression when she made her comments.

The singer and TV star continued: ‘I didn’t want you guys to see me in the state that I was in, because a) you would have told me the truth, which terrifies me, and b) I didn’t want to let you down.’
Praising the pair for their company and talent during their days of filming, Selena then went on to admit working alongside the actors was a career highlight for her.
‘went on to note that working alongside Jennifer and David, who played Harper Finkle and David Russo, respectively, was one of the best experiences of her career.

‘I appreciate you guys dearly,’ she began. ‘I love you so much in a way that I’ve never loved anybody else.
‘I think I felt safe and that’s a really hard thing for me to feel… I know you guys love me for me…You guys genuinely loved me, and that’s all I could have asked for.
‘The unconditional trust and bond we had, I miss (it) so much.’
Since leaving the hit sitcom, the actress has gone on to star in series and films galore.
Most recently, she appeared in the much-loved Disney Plus mystery drama Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and John Hoffman.
The dynamic trio opened the Screen Actors Guild Awards with a hilarious skit that saw the brunette beauty attempt to heal her co-stars’ relationship.
