Dumped Love Island star Martin Akinola isn’t boarding the ‘Shanya’ train just yet – simply because he believes Tanya Manhenga isn’t head over heels for Shaq Muhammad.
During Friday’s emotional (on Claudia Fogarty’s end) episode, islanders were summoned to the firepit to face the music as new bombshells Rosie Seabrook and Keanan Brand were told to take their pick.
Following the drama that ensued from Movie Night, Tanya, 23, proved her feelings for security officer Shaq, 24, as she chose him over Martin in the final minutes of the show.
Although Martin has provided us with top-tier entertainment during his stint on the show and insisted there were no hard feelings between him and his former flame, he doesn’t believe Tanya’s relationship with Shaq is genuine.
‘Genuinely, I think Shaq might be in love with her. But I don’t think she’s in love with him,’ he said.
Reflecting on where things stand with the 23-year-old biomedical student, Martin explained that Tanya could’ve gone about things a little better.

‘I felt like I needed to know before her little speech at the bridge. She should have told me earlier and given me a head’s up. I feel I deserved that little bit of respect. I didn’t get that. That’s why the row happened.’
He continued: ‘I told her good luck and I wish her and Shaq well. When I left the Villa as well I said good luck as I saw she felt so bad. She did what she had to do, she just went about it the wrong way really.’
Elsewhere during Friday’s installment, cracks were already beginning to form for Casey O’ Gorman and Claudia as fans watched the 26-year-old Londoner lie to the blonde beauty about his interest in bombshell Rosie.

Making matters worse during the re-coupling, the pair were split up with Rosie picking Casey and Keanan trying his luck with Claudia.
The news came after Casey had finally admitted to the daughter of Carl Fogarty he had plans to chat with the new girl to which Claudia revealed she was not interested in being second best.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
