Jean has been away for a few weeks, on holiday with Harvey (Pictures: BBC)
EastEnders star Gillian Wright was forced to pull out of panto season over Christmas and the start of January, after sustaining a broken wrist.
The actress, who plays Jean Slater in the BBC One soap, was busy rehearsing as the Wicked Queen in Chatham’s Central Theatre production of Snow White when she fell.
Revealing the injury on her Instagram at the time, Gillian wrote: ‘Rehearsing a wonderful Wicked Queen in this lovely script, with these lovely people at Central Theatre in Chatham.
‘Took a little fall in dance…broke my wrist. Carried on with marvellous support from cast and crew and theatre, sporting a plaster cast, glittery sling and with the help of painkillers got through and did the Opening Night!’.
Gillian then headed to hospital for a small operation, having a metal plate and pins inserted into her wrist.
Because of the fall and recovery time, she wasn’t able to continue with her pantomime role.

And now, due to the fact she still films as Jean Slater, her injury has been written into the soap.
After a holiday with Harvey (Ross Boatman), Jean was back in Walford this week and entered the café with her arm in a sling.
Asked about what happened by Freddie (Bobby Brazier), Jean revealed she broke her arm ‘falling off a castle’ while ‘climbing the battlements’.
Honestly, this is Jean we’re talking about. We’d expect nothing less.
