Paramore are back with a bang and on track to snag their first UK number one album in nearly a decade.
The iconic pop-punk band released new album This Is Why earlier this month and are currently out-selling their competition, You Me At Six, by more than 2:1.
Consisting of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro, Paramore have twice previously reached the top spot on the official album chart – once in 2009 and again in 2013.
Weybridge rock group You Me At Six still held the number two spot in the middle of the week, with their album Truth Decay proving a hit among listeners.
It seems rock, rather than love, is in the air this month, with The Rolling Stones’ recently released greatest hits album GRRR! Live heading for number six, according to the Official Charts Company.
Elsewhere on the album chart, the impact of Saturday’s Brit Awards is making itself known with album of the year winner Harry Styles’ Harry’s House edging up to number three.

Meanwhile, Wet Leg – who scooped best British group and best new artist – have re-entered the top 40 with their eponymous album.
Back in October, Paramore announced a UK and Ireland headline tour for 2023 after being away for four years.

The tour will start in Dublin on April 13, before travelling over the Irish Sea to Great Britain, where Hayley and co will set up shop in Cardiff on April 15.
Glasgow (April 17), Manchester (April 18), London (April 20), and then Birmingham (April 22) will complete the tour – their first in the UK since 2018.
The band released their debut album, All We Know is Falling, in 2005, which was followed by their breakout record Riot! in 2007.

Misery Business, the lead single from that album, then shot the band to worldwide fame, alongside Twilight soundtrack song Decode.
Their third album, Brand New Eyes, was released in 2009 before the band took a four-year hiatus, returning with their self-titled album in 2013.
