It comes as opposition MPs said it would be “extremely difficult” for him to continue.

The front page also features a picture of Brianna Ghey, 16, who was stabbed to death in Warrington. A boy and girl, both aged 15 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two more men have been charged with the murder of a council worker who was found dead with a gunshot wound in her back garden.

Ashley Dale, 28, died after she was discovered wounded in Old Swan, Liverpool, in the early hours of August 21 last year.
