Sam Ryder may have just had a couple of hours sleep but he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve to cope with the Brit Awards 2023.
The Eurovision Song Contest star, who came in second place in the competition last year, is among the music greats looking to party the night away at the annual bash.
The 33-year-old is also up for best new artist and will battle it out against Wet Leg, Mimi Webb, Kojey Radical and Rina Sawayama for the prestigious gong.
The singer shared an update with his 3.9m Instagram followers on Saturday just hours before the ceremony, which is being held at The O2 arena, revealing he was somewhat sleep deprived.
‘I got two hours sleep last night,’ Sam confessed. ‘It was probably the excitement but more probably the jetlag.
‘My neighbour gave me some of these,’ he continued, gesturing to the eye mask he was wearing. ‘Hope they work. I really do hope they work.’
But the beauty treatment wasn’t Sam’s only tool to stave off the tiredness and to energise himself for the Brits.
The singer had bought no other than a shepherd’s pie to munch on as he made his way by car.
Sam confessed that while the classic English dish might be a ‘bit heavy for this time of day’ it was a good ‘un as his mum had made it.

The Tiny Riot star explained he had woken up at 3am with Rascal Flatts’ tune Life is a Highway in his head and decided to go on a three-hour walk
‘But now I’m here,’ he continued, ‘I’m on the way. Stuck in traffic. I am truly excited.’
The Whirlwind performer wasn’t the only musician prepping for the Brits on Saturday afternoon, with Lewis Capaldi teasing fans about what they can expect.

The singer-songwriter, 26, shared a video from his plush hotel room in which he poked fun at the language often used on social media by fans to hype up their favourite stars.
He also quipped: ‘My nipple clamps are from Tiffany, Donatella Versace been real quiet since Lewis showed up rocking this. It’s giving main character energy from Capaldi tonight at the Brits.’

While we *think* it was a joke, it would be truly iconic if Lewis did rock up to the bash in nipple clamps.
