Missing Nicola Bulley’s friends make another appeal
Missing dog walker Nicola Bulley’s friends are set to make another appeal, marking two weeks since she disappeared.
Bulley, 45, was last seen walking her dog in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, on 27 January.
Her friends will stand by the main road in the village, holding her photograph and urging any witnesses to come forward.
Police still believe Ms Bulley likely fell into the river, but underwater searches – now extended to Morecambe Bay and Knott End -have failed to find her. Her family and friends have also cast doubt on this theory, saying there is no evidence she fell into the water, she is a strong swimmer and hadn’t taken the dog’s ball out on walks in a while.
On Thursday, a rescue boat was spotted doing sweeps where the River Wyre meets the Irish Sea – about 10 miles downstream from St Michael’s on Wyre.
The extension of the search area came after a specialist team that came in to assist the police, pulled out of the search saying she was “categorically not” in the section of the river where police think she fell in.
The search for Nicola Bulley continues
Nicola Bulley is known to have dropped her daughters off at school, and then taken her dog for a walk alongside the River Wyre. Her phone was found on a bench – still connected to a Teams call – on a riverbank, along with the dog lead and harness on the ground.
Police still don’t believe Ms Bulley is the victim of a crime but remain “open-minded” to any information that indicates where she is or what has happened.
On Thursday, police issued two dispersal notices as members of the public appeared in the village, often filming police activity around where she disappeared.
The notices are to break up groups coming into the area.
Officers have told the public to not “take the law into their own hands” by breaking into empty or derelict riverside properties to try and find Ms Bulley.
