Joe is the one looking over his shoulder this time round (Picture: Netflix)
Joe Goldberg is back with his sinister-esque charm in the fourth chapter of Netflix’s You…. but it looks like someone else is doing the stalking.
Season four follows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he swaps America for a fresh life across the pond in London., and of course, it wouldn’t be You without a fresh new identity for the troubled man.
But despite adopting a new persona as Professor Jonathan Moore, it seems as though Joe cannot escape his past, and it looks like it’s about to catch up with him as someone begins following his every move.
Oh how the tables have turned.
It’s safe to say Joe has made quite a few enemies over the seasons, as his murdering antics have journeyed from New York to Los Angeles, and we can’t help but wonder who will meet their deadly fate in London this time round.
With series four premiering in a matter of hours, we’ve provided a list of suspects we think could be the ones putting Joe on edge.
Marienne Bellamy
Joe left Madre Linda to follow Marienne (Picture: Netflix)
For those who need a little refresher, Joe fell in love with his boss Marienne Bellamy (Tatti Gabrielle) and the two even considered running away together to start a new life.
So why would she be the one making Joe sweat?
Well, during the intense season three finale, Joe’s ex-wife Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) discovers that her husband was seeing his co-worker, but was more hurt to discover that Joe actually killed Marienne’s menacing ex-partner Ryan Goodwin (Scott Michael Foster).
After deciding to spare Marienne’s life, Love took it upon herself to tell her that Joe killed Ryan which resulted in a stunned Marienne leaving the suburbs for a new life in Paris with her daughter Julliette.
In the latest trailer we’re only given one interaction between Joe and Marienne in London.
‘You’re a murderer Joe,’ she tells him.
But could she be the number one suspect plotting Joe’s overdue downfall.
Love Quinn
Following a brutal showdown with Joe, Love was left to die (Picture: Netflix)
I know what you’re thinking…”Love’s dead.”
But for those familiar with the cunning mind Love possesses, her taunting Joe beyond the grave doesn’t seem that far-fetched.
Season three was a turbulent journey for the disturbed duo who only found solace through murder.
Tale as old as time!
Following Love’s brutal death, fans are hoping Love is taking revenge on her former spouse after he stabbed her with a poisonous needle.
One person shared: ‘#You prediction… Love isn’t dead. We never saw her body it’s only assumed. She’s now stalking Joe in the next season.’
‘I wish they didn’t kill Love in #You Season 3 because her stalking Joe to London and torturing him using Gossip Girl like texts and schemes would’ve been breathtakingly iconic,’ another added.
Although it’s pretty unlikely, we wouldn’t put it past her!
Dr Nicky
Dr Nicky was wrongfully accused of Beck’s murder in season one (Picture: Netflix)
Let’s take it back to season one where the dashing John Stamos made his cameo as Joe’s therapist Dr Nicky.
In the first instalment, fans were introduced to Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) aka the first object of Joe’s desires.
But Joe’s killer instincts came in full effect after he discovered that Beck was cheating on him with Dr Nicky.
Of course, the thought of killing the therapist crossed his mind multiple times, but after he murdered Beck he decided to frame the disgraced psychologist with her murder.
Although we didn’t see an appearance from him in season 3, he made a brief cameo in season two after Love’s overly protective brother Forty (James Scully) pays him a visit when his suspicions around Joe intensify.
But after being wrongfully accused of murder, could Nicky be a potential suspect?
Ellie Alves
She starred opposite Penn Badgley in Netflix hit You (Picture: Netflix)
In the second season, Joe struck up a surprising friendship with his landlord’s daughter Ellie Alves (Jenna Ortega).
Despite his murderous antics, Joe was extremely protective of Ellie, but their relationship fell apart after Love murdered Ellie’s sister Delilah after she found out about her and Joe’s fling.
Determined to keep her away from Love’s psychotic and dysfunctional family, Joe lent her some money and urged her to start a new life elsewhere.
Ellie’s name is also mentioned frequently at the beginning of season three as Joe revealed he often sends her money…. which indicates the two still keep tabs on each other.
Although Jenna has been leading the charge in Netflix’s phenomenon Wednesday, she previously explained that she would love to come back to You.
‘I love that set,’ she said.
‘The team behind it, the writers are so witty and so funny, and then also just to work with Penn Badgley again.’
Well just like Wednesday Addams, Ellie Alves is someone you wouldn’t want to mess with!
Dottie Quinn
Could Dottie be using this as an opportunity to stand by her dead daughter? (Picture: Netflix)
Love’s free-spirited and often unpredictable mother Dottie (Saffron Burrows) had a complicated relationship with her daughter.
Love often criticised her mother’s parenting style and blasted her for not being there for her.
Dottie was shunned by the Quinn-Goldbergs near the end of season three after she almost put Baby Henry’s life in danger.

It might seem like a long shot, but Joe is the reason why her children Love and Forty are dead.
So will this be the perfect opportunity to redeem herself as a good mother… sounds a little twisted but possible.
You season 4 part 1 returns to Netflix on February 9 2023, and part 2 premieres March 9.
