Hogwarts Legacy will send you on a magical adventure though the Wizarding World, but how long will it take you to complete?
Those who’ve purchased Hogwarts Legacy’s deluxe edition have already been able to start playing the game, thanks to the early access perk.
Being a student at Hogwarts, picking your house, making potions, and tracking down fantastic beasts are only a few of the game’s suite of features that you’ll be able to explore.
With so much to see and do in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s only natural to wonder just how much time you’ll need to dedicate to completing its main story and side objectives…
How long is Hogwarts Legacy?
According to the Hogwarts Legacy art book, as well as players’ first impressions, the game’s main storyline will take around 30 to 35 hours to complete.
However, if you want to fully immerse yourself in the Wizarding World and carry out every side mission, you’ll have to double that time, as you’ll need around 70 hours.
This roughly matches up with initial results from HowLongToBeat, which suggests 48½ hours for the main quest and side quests.
Hogwarts Legacy has plenty of optional objectives, such as House-specific quests, secret dungeons to explore, as well as hidden boss fights to complete.
On top of that, PlayStation players will be rewarded with an extra, exclusive quest called the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest.
The art book also mentioned some puzzles left by the wizard Merlin, to solve around the Hogwarts campus and surrounding countryside.

More: Harry Potter
If you choose to look for these puzzles, you’ll likely need to increase your mileage in the game by a little, as there’s estimated to be around 100.
The length of the game also depends on the difficulty level you choose at the start and how quickly you’ll be able to master its combat system.
You can either breeze through Hogwarts Legacy having set it on the easiest setting, or take your time and challenge yourself on the hardest difficulty.
Sadly, the one thing you won’t be able to do in the game is play the Harry Potter franchise’s iconic sport, Quidditch – you can still ride a broom though.
