Liam Gallagher opened up about his recent hip operation and hinted the procedure was the first step towards making a musical ‘comeback’.
Speculation about a potential Oasis reunion – the band he was formerly part of with brother, Noel, 55 – has been rife and Liam’s latest update has fans convinced new music could be on the horizon.
The Wonderwall chart-topper, 50, spoke candidly about his hospital visit and kept his followers on social media in the loop as to his progress.
Taking to Twitter, Liam announced: ‘Morning Rastas so I had my Hip operation last wk all went well and RESPEK [respect] to all the doctors n nurses who looked after me.
‘Big shout out to the A team for getting us home safe n sound you know who you are and Florence guru I love and adore you Riverdance here I come LG x [sic]’.
Rushing to comment underneath the message, one fan joked with the star: ‘I hope the operation hasn’t affected your swagger!!’, to which he replied: ‘I’m getting my physio to study old videos of my walk so we don’t miss a trick the comeback is real [sic]’.

Another social media user questioned the musician on his work status post operation, writing: ‘Glad you had it! Will ya be back soon rocking it on stage?’ followed by: ‘Anymore phone calls from Noel?’.
News of his recovery came after his brother announced the break-down of his relationship with his wife Sara MacDonald.
Amid the divorce after 22 years of marriage, Noel also revealed he wouldn’t rule out an Oasis reunion and a rekindling of the musical relationship he once had with Liam.

He told a fellow industry friend this month: ‘Well, you should never say never… it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances but that’s not to say those won’t ever come about.’
It has been reported the once feuding siblings have grown closer following Noel’s recent divorce.
Noel revealed details of their current rapport to BBC Radio Manchester’s Mike Sweeney when questioned about how they were getting on.
The star exclaimed: ‘Oh, brilliantly, yeah.”
The radio host who has had a close relationship with the rockstar for years, responded: ‘Genuinely?’
‘Genuinely, yeah,’ were Noel’s final words on the subject.
