Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) world has turned upside down after a major phone call in last night’s Emmerdale and tonight, we will find out what news she received.
The Woolpack owner was sitting in the living room with boyfriend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) busy making a mobile for a cot for pregnant Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).
‘Are you sure?’, she exclaimed, evidently hurt by what she’d been told, struggling to come to terms with the revelation.
As we learn of Charity’s news tonight, it has got many fans wondering what’s going on – with some fearing she may have been given information about her daughter, Debbie (Charley Webb).
After the Emmerdale Twitter account speculated who Charity could’ve been on the phone to, many users of the social media platform wondered if Debbie may be dead.
Aware of what’s ahead in upcoming episodes, this fan attempted to solve the mystery.
They wrote:
‘After the call, Charity goes off with vodka, Caleb’s car and Cain. Why the reaction? Zoe? She was mentioned recently. Vanessa? Something happened to her or Johnny. Has his adoption been revoked. Bails? Is released from jail. Debbie? Andy Sugden returns.’
The theory relating to Andy comes after actor Kelvin Fletcher said he would reprise his role and return to the Dales, but are they correct?
Debbie was last seen in the ITV soap back in 2020, but with Charley Webb previously confirming she has definitely left the role, could we be about to say goodbye to her forever?
‘What she hears shocks her and sends her flying off the handle,’ Emma told us, reacting to Charity’s news. ‘She’s quite volatile in her reaction and quite reckless in the next thing that she does.
‘She sees that Caleb has dropped his car keys and she just feels reckless and grabs the keys. Then Cain catches her doing it and she immediately becomes this teenage girl again and wants to just be rebellious.
‘Who better to be rebellious with than her sidekick back from her teenage years. So she says to Cain, “You might have witnessed it but that now makes you my accomplice.” Cain tries to get out of the car but she whizzes off at a pace so it’s impossible for him to get out.’

During the aftermath, Charity is involved in a big stunt, something Emma really enjoyed filming:
‘It’s funny actually, because we shot it and I got to do my own stunt,’ she said. ‘There was a muffin and a cup of coffee on the roof of the car and I had to pull away really fast. It jolted the muffin off the car and I loved it!’
