Cody Rhodes went from undesirable to undeniable (Picture: WWE)
Cody Rhodes made his WWE return after a long injury layoff to take a step closer to his date with destiny.
The American Nightmare has been open about deciding to come home to WWE in a bid to win the world championship his late, great father Dusty Rhodes never won during his own career.
Now, he’ll have a chance to do just that at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood in April against the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion – which is currently Roman Reigns.
Rhodes had already declared himself for the 30-man match, which opened Saturday night’s premium live event, and he came out as the final entrant.
It set him up for a brilliant standoff with his 2022 rival Seth Rollins, while he also had a fun exchange with Logan Paul, who made his own return one spot earlier.
The former Intercontinental Champion may have come in late but he had plenty to do as he found himself in the final two with GUNTHER, who lasted a record-breaking hour and 15 minutes after being the very first entrant of the night.
