The Daily Mirror is leading with Sir Rod Stewart’s surprise phone call to Sky News where he criticised the Conservative government and the current state of the NHS and called for people to back Labour – “stand down and give Labour a go” he told the government. 

The paper notes Rod identified as a long-time Tory voter but he’s now backing Labour and the striking nurses.
