Big changes are on the way for Warzone 2’s DMZ mode, which has faced non-stop criticism since its release.
Despite the initial excitement around Warzone 2’s newly launched DMZ mode, many players and streamers have expressed their disappointment at the game seeming glitchy and bug-ridden.
The reactions were so extreme that Activision and Infinity Ward ended up backtracking and dubbing the mode a beta, although this doesn’t seem to have calmed the waters much.
Now, the Season 2 update that’s set to kick off on February 15 promises to not only add new content to the mode but address the bigger issues at hand.
In a recent community update blog post, Warzone 2’s developers highlighted pretty much everything that will be included in the update, starting with enemy tuning.
There will be several balance changes to adjust the types and number of AI spawning, as well as their accuracy at range.
This change looks to address complaints about DMZ’s AI being too powerful, leading many players to get easily killed and booted off the match.
A fix will also be applied to the player spawn mechanics, so hopefully there will be no more awkward spawning next to opponents or areas lacking loot.

Once the Season 2 update goes live, your faction’s mission progress and inventory will be reset, including all contraband items and keys.
This means you’ll be called to jump back into DMZ and start your progress again, similar to the server wipes that periodically happen in Escape From Tarkov.
A third ‘exclusion zone’ will also get added to DMZ after the update, meaning you’ll get a third option to choose from when deploying in this mode.
You’ll be able to choose between Al Mazrah, Building 21, or the new exclusion zone, where you’ll find new missions to complete thanks to the faction refresh.
Last but not least, the developers addressed the crashes that happen in DMZ – which is the mode’s main problem – stating that they are ‘committed to increased stability’.
That’s not much to go on though and the only thing you can do for now is to hold on for a few more weeks…
