Manchester United star has referred to Arsene Wenger as ‘that guy from Arsenal’ and says there’s no comparison between the Frenchman and Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils take on the table-topping Gunners today as they look to reduce Arsenal’s lead at the top to five points with a win at the Emirates.
De Gea joined United in 2011, when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were still in their pomp and Wenger’s Arsenal were arguably at their weakest.
Indeed, United destroyed Arsenal 8-2 in De Gea’s fourth appearance for the club.
But the two are rivals against once more, with Arteta and Erik ten Hag reviving their respective clubs this season.
De Gea, though, says there was no comparison between Ferguson and Wenger, referring to the Frenchman as ‘that guy from Arsenal’.

‘I hope so,” said De Gea when asked if the old feud between Sir Alex Ferguson and Wenger could be revived by Arteta and Ten Hag.
‘We’re talking about one of the best managers in history, Sir Alex, and the guy from Arsenal.
‘It’s different eras, different football, football has changed a bit, but let’s see. Both managers are really good now, they’re playing well and it’s going to be a nice game.’
