PSV Eindhoven boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed the club have accepted an offer from Chelsea for Noni Madueke.
Reports broke on Thursday night that the Blues had submitted a £29m proposal to sign the midfielder.
Madueke, 20, was born in London and came through Crystal Palace’s academy. He rejected offers from Manchester United in 2018 in favour of joining PSV.
The England U21 international has gone from strength to strength in the Netherlands but PSV were minded to keep him this month.
The Dutch giants had already sold Cody Gakpo to Liverpool earlier than planned and felt that Madueke would remain at the club.
But Van Nistelrooy says, in confirming the deal, that the money on offer was too much to turn down from Chelsea.

‘It’s a mix of emotions,’ said Van Nistelrooy.
‘We are losing a good player because of his departure. There was no turning back and there was a solid financial compensation.
‘I can empathize with the importance of the club.
‘Given the circumstances, with the financial compensation, we have decided to sell.’

The former Manchester United forward said Madueke’s yearning to return to London was a major factor in him pushing to sign for Chelsea.
The midfielder is Chelsea’s fifth signing of the window, joining the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoît Badiashile, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos in moving to Stamford Bridge.
