Iconic rockers Fall Out Boy have announced they’re releasing a new album, and it’ll be here in March.
Can everyone get your nearest noughties teen a glass of water please, because the excitement is off the chain (and the spikey choker necklace, of course).
The American punk group, composed of Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley, is all set for a much-anticipated return.
Their eighth studio album, So Much (For) Stardust, will arrive on March 24.
It includes the band’s new single, released today, called Love From The Other Side, which they will be performing tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The band have also released an accompanying music video to the single, which is their first new music since 2018’s Mania album.
The band never broke up, but were just biding their time until it felt right to return – which apparently is now.
‘Technology has made it really easy to make records much more quickly these days. There’s nothing wrong with that, and that spontaneity can be exciting,’ shared Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump in a statement.
‘But we wanted to get back to the way we used to work. We wanted to make a record that was really lovingly crafted and deliberate and patiently guided – like someone cooked you a delicate meal. I’m not a very proud guy, but I’m pretty proud of this record.’

For the album, the band are reuniting with renowned producer Neal Avron, whom they worked with on three previous albums – From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High, Folie à Deux.
Patrick continued: ‘Neal not only taught us how to make records, but has a unique capacity to really take time and focus on a record.
‘We thought it was a no-brainer to work with him again, on a record where that was very important to us, and he was gracious enough to agree to work with us.’
Rumours began to circulate about an incoming new album back in November, after a weird ad appeared in the Chicago Tribune and multiplied to other teaser sites in December.

On January 11, the band officially revealed the single’s release date.
While Fall Out Boy have not yet announced a 2023 tour, this year happens to be the 20th anniversary of Take This to Your Grave, their debut album…
