Awards season has been thrown into chaos after a number of A-listers were forced to pull out of the Critics’ Choice Awards at the weekend after testing positive for Covid after attending the Golden Globes last week.
But one star who managed to avoid catching the virus is 45-year-old actress Jessica Chastain – and now we know how.
An image has surfaced of the George & Tammy star wearing a diamond-encrusted mask that matched her stunning dress as she prepared to step onto the red carpet.
Jessica was nominated for the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film award at this month’s Golden Globes, but was beaten by Amanda Seyfried for her portrayal as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout.
Sharing the photo to social media, a fan of the actress wrote on Twitter: ‘and you know who didn’t get Covid at the Golden Globes?’
Jessica shared the image on her own page, simply writing, ‘Phew! 😷,’ as she addressed her 1,000,000 followers on the site.

On the red carpet of the awards ceremony, Jessica explained how she was taking precautions to not get ill as she is about to star on Broadway.
She told E!: ‘I’m doing a play right now in New York, I’m going to be doing A Doll’s House. I’m playing Nora so I’m really excited about that.
‘I’m a little nervous about getting sick but I’ve got my mask.

‘Oh my gosh, you have to be so careful in the theatre because I don’t want to let my cast down.’
Fans were concerned that Jessica may have been struck by the virus as she was photographed posing with Colin Farrell – who has since tested positive – on the night.

Variety’s senior culture and events editor Marc Malkin tweeted on Saturday night: ‘Here we go again. Just confirmed that #colinfarrell and #brendongleeson won’t be at #CriticsChoiceAwards tomorrow because they have both tested positive for COVID.’
Colin, 46, was nominated for Best Actor at Sunday night’s awards for his role as Pádraic Súilleabháin in The Banshees of Inisherin, but missed out to Brendan Fraser for his performance in The Whale.
