Only Fools and Horses star Patrick Murray expressed his gratitude for his recent life-changing operation following his second cancer diagnosis.
The 66-year-old actor, who is best known for playing wide-boy Mickey Pearce in the adored sitcom, was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2021 and underwent an operation in October to remove the tumour.
In May 2022, he was declared cancer-free, however, the TV star recently revealed he had another operation to remove half his liver and a tumour, which they discovered last year.
Addressing his latest surgery, he showed love to his surgeon Professor Nigel Heaton.
‘I had the same surgeon as George Best, Professor Nigel Heaton, and he was delighted with the outcome as the tumour wasn’t in a good place,’ he said.
‘So I’m eternally grateful to him.’

The passion for Only Fools and Horses has continued to endure throughout the years, spawning a West End production, a spin-off and a prequel series.
And fans have been begging for the gang to get back together for one more episode.
Speaking about a potential revival, Patrick added: ‘Mickey will probably have a little Mickey running around. If the quality of the script was there, I imagine the others would be up for it too.’
Last year, Patrick shared an update with fans following his lung cancer diagnosis, saying he was ‘cured’ after undergoing chemotherapy.
In a post shared on Twitter, the actor said: ‘Last Friday I saw my oncologist. She told me the lung cancer was cured and that the tumour in my liver was shrinking.’
He added at the time: ‘It’s not over yet, but as you can imagine I am over the moon with this latest news.’
