Marvin Gaye III, the son of Motown icon Marvin Gaye, has been arrested, according to reports.
The 57-year-old is said to have pointed a gun at his wife, Wendy Gaye, and his cousin, and was arrested a day later on Friday (January 13).
It’s believed that cops surrounded his home and shouted for him to come out of the property, but neighbours informed them that he had already sped off in his Corvette.
Sources later told TMZ that he allegedly physically assaulted both of the women women after an argument over a previous alleged assault.
Law enforcement officials also told the outlet that Gaye turned himself in at the Sheriff’s station at 5pm the next day.
He was reportedly booked on misdemeanour domestic violence and felony assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Gaye was released after he posted $50,000 (£40.9k) bond.
Consequently, an emergency protective order was issued to ensure Gaye kept away from his home and his family members.
Cops also retrieved two firearms from the property.
An investigation is ongoing.

Gaye is the adopted son of legendary singer and his wife Anna Gordy Gaye – the couple were married from 1963 until 1977.
He was taken in by the pair after Gaye was born just days after his birth mother’s 16th birthday.
Despite his turbulent relationship with his own father, the Let’s Get It On hitmaker named his adopted son Marvin III ‘to keep up with tradition.’

Both of his adopted parents are now dead, with the musician assassinated by his own father in 1984 when he was 44.
Meanwhile Anna, who was 17 years his senior, died in 2014 at the age of 92.

Gaye now has his own children, welcoming his first son, Marvin IV, on the 56th anniversary of his father’s birth in 1995.
Five years later, a second boy named Dylan was born.
