Christina Applegate has confirmed she’ll be in attendance at this year’s Critic’s Choice Awards following her health diagnosis in 2019.
The 51-year-old actress has been nominated for best actress in a comedy series for her role in Netflix’s smash hit saga Dead to Me.
While Christina has stayed away from public award show appearances since finding out she had multiple sclerosis diagnosis four years ago, she shared that she will be attending the ceremony on Sunday night – and is a little bit nervous.
Christina penned: ‘So this Sunday will be the first awards show I have been to since 2019.
‘And the first since MS. NERVOUS! But grateful to the @CriticsChoice for including me. [sic]’

The actress was first heard publicly speaking on the condition – which can affect the brain and spinal cord – in August 2021.
Treatment for her diagnosis caused the Netflix production Dead to Me When to be set back by five-month, a hiatus that was ultimately worsened by the Covid pandemic.
Completing its third and final season, Christina pushed for filming to resume and the crew got underway to see it all the way to the end.
The actress reflected on the time of her diagnosis during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show last December.
She remembered: ‘Can I say it sucked balls?
‘Shooting the show was the hardest thing I’d ever done in my life because I was diagnosed during shooting and I didn’t know what was happening.

‘I couldn’t walk; they had to use a wheelchair to get me to set. I was freaking out until someone was like, “You need an MRI.”
‘I found out on a Monday after work that I had MS, a disease that I’m going to have for the rest of my life.’
Fans were thrilled to hear of Christina’s upcoming red carpet spell, sharing their love for the star on social media.
One wrote: ‘You got this. Don’t be nervous. Everyone is cheering you on!!! [sic]’
‘Take your time and go slow. No reason anything can’t wait. Just be careful and watch your steps. If you need to rest then do it.
‘No one thinks less of us because we need to rest. 10 years of experience talking. It’s ok. Be U. [sic],’ another commented.
The Critics Choice Awards are taking place on Sunday, January 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
