It’s official! EastEnders couple Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) are set to tie the knot in two weeks time, so you best go nip to the shops and buy a hat for the occasion.
The couple got engaged over the festive season, after Jay decided that he wasn’t going to waste a single second following Lola’s terminal diagnosis.
Lola, as viewers know, was diagnosed with a brain tumour several months ago, after a trip to the hospital following a number of seizures and dizzy spells. Doctors had hoped that they’d be able to remove the tumour, but the surgery proved unsuccessful.
The hairdresser has been undergoing chemotherapy in a bid to buy her more time, and recently, she returned to work at Fox and Hair, much to Jay’s dismay, as he fears that she’s doing too much.
Lola, however, put her foot down, insisting that she’s fine, with Thursday’s (January 10) edition of the BBC One soap seeing her resolve to stop ‘waiting’, as she signed up for more shifts at the salon.
Her words left Jay thoughtful, and subsequent scenes saw him arrive at the salon with a bunch of flowers, before revealing that he’d booked the wedding for two weeks time, adding that he too is also ‘sick of waiting’.

Lola was overwhelmed and kissed her beau, delighted at the thought of getting wed in a fortnight.
Will all go to plan?
This is Walford we’re talking about, so there will likely be a few hiccups along the way!
EastEnders continues Thursday January 11 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
