Jenna Ortega has pondered what role Lady Gaga could play in Wednesday season 2 should she join the cast… and we’re simply dying to find out if it could ever be a possibility.
Last night, the 20-year-old was among the nominees who attended the 2023 Golden Globes at The Beverly Hilton, losing out in her category to Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary.
The actor looked worlds away from Wednesday Addams in her ethereal Gucci gown, her hair styled with chic flicks and accessorising with elegant silver jewellery.
On the red carpet, Jenna was asked what she thought of the prospect of Lady Gaga playing a part on the Addams Family spin-off, following the news that it had been officially renewed for season 2 on Netflix.
Following the release of the first season, Wednesday’s solo routine at the Rave’N school dance – which Jenna choreographed – went viral on social media, sparking a viral TikTok trend that even Lady Gaga got involved in, performing it to her own 2011 track Bloody Mary.
When questioned on the idea of the 36-year-old joining the cast of the show, Jenna quipped: ‘I’m sure Netflix would love that.’

She then speculated to Variety what kind of role Lady Gaga could play, referencing Christina Ricci’s character, Ms Thornhill.
‘Ooh I’m not sure. I feel like, I don’t know… I think Ms Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird kind of mentor relationship, or kind of understood each other in a certain way,’ she explained.
‘So if Lady Gaga were to be a part I think there would have to be two monsters that understand each other.’
Jenna also revealed the surprising connection that she has with Lady Gaga, which dates back years before she achieved global stardom for Wednesday and her other projects, including You and Scream.
‘A long time ago I worked with a hairdresser who used to work with her, and I had just seen Lady Gaga in concert in Boston a couple of years before, and she had made me a video saying, “Oh hey Jenna, I heard you’re a fan.” It was a really, really sweet video,’ she recalled.
‘I doubt she even remembers or has any idea who I was back then, but to see her do [the viral Wednesday dance] now, it was kind of one of those moments that you acknowledge is, life changes really, really fast and it’s really crazy.’
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
