Katherine Ryan says she doesn’t regret her interview with Louis Theroux (Picture: BBC/Mindhouse)
Katherine Ryan has admitted her husband was a little uncomfortable by her tell-all interview with Louis Theroux.
The comedian, 39, spoke to the acclaimed documentarian in November for his Louis Theroux Interviews… series, where she opened up about her life, career – including accusing the TV industry of hiding a secret.
Mum-of-three Katherine told Louis that a certain male celebrity – that she worked with on a popular TV show – was known to be a sexual predator.
‘We’ve seen what happens to the people who talk about alleged predators,’ she told Louis at the time, saying it was ‘dangerous’ for her to speak about it.
Now Katherine has revealed how filming the interview made her husband slightly nervous, partly because the famous interviewer spent four days with them.
Katherine herself released a statement after the interview was broadcast saying she would not be speaking about the alleged predator again in order to protect women.
Speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, she said she ‘loved’ taking part in the interview series, insisting ‘I don’t think you can trick me into revealing something that I didn’t want to reveal.’

‘I thought he was cool, I thought he was brave…I like that he’ll ask me any question, openly,’ she added, as ‘I don’t enjoy small talk.’
‘He asked me some spicy questions, he was with us for four days,’ she recalled, joking: ‘I’m lucky that… I disassociated from how special it is to have Louis Theroux interview you without being in a sex cult.’
While Katherine will ‘answer any question I’m asked,’ she admitted that ‘unfortunately’ some questions came up that made her husband slightly uncomfortable.
She added: ‘He was a bit like, “oh I don’t really want to talk to Louis, you shouldn’t answer that question, don’t say that on air.”
‘When he saw the edit he was like, “oh God, you talk about spicy things.” I thought oh well. I don’t care.’
Katherine had previously spoke about the alleged predator in the industry, claiming in June that she had repeatedly called out the anonymous celebrity to his face.

Speaking to Louis, she said addressing it was ‘a litigious minefield’ because ‘this person has very good lawyers.’
Katherine continued by stressing that she hasn’t fallen victim to the predator.
‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she said. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me, but this person, I believe very strongly – many people believe very strongly – is an open secret, is a perpetrator of sexual assault.’

Elsewhere during her conversation with Louis, Katherine voiced her opinion that you can be cancelled ‘if you accuse too many men of sexual assault’.
‘Then you’re labelled a trouble maker and people won’t book you anymore,’ she continued.
‘I think it’s more quiet disappearing than cancellation.’
