Some of Tuesday’s front pages lead with quotes from Prince Harry who said he wants his father and brother “back” as the former royal sat down for two interviews (set to be released on Sunday) to promote his new book SPARE.
Prince Harry interviews ahead of release of book
The Daily Telegraph says the two trailers for the upcoming interviews (one US based, one UK based) claimed that Prince William and King Charles are unwilling to reconcile with him and are happy for Harry and his wife Meghan to remain as being seen as the ‘villains.’
Harry has “risked deepening his feud” with the Royal Family according to the Daily Mail, which said he launched a “publicity blitz” to promote his new book “Spare.”
The Sun says Harry “slated his family again” but also says he wants to make peace with them.
Harry’s two interviews are released on Sunday – the UK interview will discuss never before heard details surrounding the death of Prince William and Harry’s mum Princess Diana.
NHS on knife edge
The Daily Mirror reports the “future of the NHS is on a knife edge” and highlights the calls from the British Medical Association for immediate state intervention.
Both the Guardian and the i newspaper lead with warnings from health leaders that the NHS faces three more months of turmoil – with further critical incidents expected – and patient care routinely compromised.
UK set for longer and deeper recession
The Financial Times reports experts predict the UK is set for a longer and deeper recession than other wealthy nations in the G7.
The FT surveyed more than a hundred experts and a clear majority say they expect high interest rates and tight government spending controls to continue for longer than elsewhere. One economist said that the 2023 recession will “feel much worse” than the economic impact of the pandemic – but most said growth would return by the end of the year.
