Three people and a dog have reportedly died in a fire at a hotel in the early hours of this morning.
Fire and rescue teams were called to the New County Hotel, County Place, at around 5.02am today.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed to STV News that at least three people and a dog have died at the fire.
The fire has been extinguished but two fire crews remain at the scene to carry out safety checks.
Police said a number of guests were evacuated from the hotel, and asked members of the public to avoid the area.
