Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton story will share the origins of characters including Lady Danbury (Picture: Netflix)
Bridgerton has shown Lady Danbury to be one of the most powerful women in London high society, but now Netflix has revealed a look of her as a teenager ahead of the prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Over the past two seasons of the period drama, Lady Danbury (played by Adjoa Andoh) has offered an insight into the inner workings of the ton during the social season, where youth of nobility and gentry are presented for marriage potential.
While she is one of the most knowledgeable people about how this process works, she had to start somewhere, and we are set to get an idea of what she was like growing up in the prequel series, set to be released later this year.
Now the first look image of her has been released, and it shows her standing outside looking anything but the confident and self-assured woman we know her to be, as she appears slightly apprehensive while facing someone.
Captured from the sixth episode of the season, it also shows her donned in an opulent gown, adorned in jewels.
Although she always been referred to as Lady Danbury in Bridgerton, her name is Agatha, and the series will also share her origin story aside from the monarch’s.

Writers have already teased some of her storyline, sharing that Agatha is ‘strapped with a sharp understanding of the once-divided social scene and the intricacies of marriage’ and will become a ‘guiding light’ for Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio), while she also finds her own voice and power.
After marrying a much older husband, she will use her friend’s ascent to the throne to also forge her way into society.
Agatha will be played by Arsema Thomas, a recent graduate of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, who also has degrees in Biological Sciences and a Masters in Public Health from Carnegie Mellon University and Yale University.

Fans of the franchise will also be getting the third season of Bridgerton this year, with that outing to focus on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
