Jacqueline Jossa could be heading back to Albert Square in a huge EastEnders comeback after speaking to the show’s boss, it’s been reported.
Earlier this year, the BBC soap aired an episode centred around the funeral of Dot Cotton, following the death of June Brown, who died in April this year aged 95.
June first played Dot from 1985 until 1993, reprising the role in 1997 until 2020.
Jacqueline, 30, was among several past EastEnders stars to make guest appearances on the programme to honour their former co-star’s memory, as she returned as Dot’s step-granddaughter Lauren Branning.
However, it appears she is eyeing up a bigger return in the near future, according to a new report.
A source said that the actress ‘hugely enjoyed reprising her role as Lauren for Dot’s funeral’.

‘EastEnders was a huge part of her life and she absolutely loves her character,’ the insider told The Sun.
‘She had a conversation with EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw when she was back filming and made it clear she would be up for Lauren returning to Walford.
‘Naturally it all depends on storylines and obviously Jacqueline would need to make it fit around her family life.’
However, the source noted that as both of Jacqueline’s daughters are older, this could factor into her return.

They added that being back on set ‘made her realise just how much she missed EastEnders’.
‘She hopes that something can be rustled up for Lauren and that she can return full time at some point in the future,’ they claimed.
Jacqueline played Lauren on EastEnders from 2010 to 2018, a role for which she was nominated for and won several awards, including taking home the best actress gong at the Inside Soap Awards in 2013.
In 2019, shortly after her exit from the soap, she won the 19th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in the jungle, a year before the show briefly relocated to Gwrych Castle in wales.
The star has been married to reality star Dan Osborne since 2017 and the couple have two children together, daughters Ella and Mia.
Dan, 31, also has a son called Teddy from a previous relationship.
