Marcus Rashford has been dropped from the Manchester United XI taking on Wolves due to an ‘internal disciplinary’ issue, Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
The 25-year-old is United’s leading scorer and has been in thrilling form since the return of domestic football.
Rashford scored a stunning solo effort in the 2-0 win over Burnley before netting again and providing an assist for Anthony Martial in the 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
But the forward was left out of Saturday’s starting XI with teenager Alejandro Garnacho coming into replace him on the left of United’s attack.
Asked why Rashford is not in the starting XI, ten Hag bluntly told BT Sport: ‘Internal disciplinary.’
Lisandro Martinez, who returned to Manchester this week following Argentina’s World Cup celebrations, was in line to return for his club with United facing a shortage at centre-half during the week.
But the former Ajax star is not in the squad for Saturday’s game.
