An Apex Legends streamer is being praised for doing several good deeds during Christmas using his Twitch earnings.
Some bigger gaming streamers choose to turn ads off during their live broadcasts, as viewers often get annoyed from having to sit through them.
However, Apex Legends pro HisWattson, who was originally against running ads, found a way to put these mini breaks to good use.
Back in October, he announced that he would allow ads to play during his streams and then spend the revenue on gaming equipment for people who can’t afford to buy it themselves.
The streamer has also seemingly faced financial struggles in the past, as he only managed to move out of his trailer house in November, after having his breakout in 2022.
HisWattson, whose real name is Jacob McMillin, asked his viewers to be patient for a few weeks when watching him play Apex Legends, as it would all be for a good cause.
In a later update, McMillin confirmed that about $20,000 (£16,600) worth of PCs were sent out on December 21, just in time to reach those in need for Christmas.
He also revealed that he decided to spend an extra $5,000 (£4,100) to fund a BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of colour) gaming tournament.
Around $4,000 (⁓£3,300) were also used to help a dog get surgery and to buy Christmas presents for kids in need.
Currently McMillin is also running a giveaway for a high-end gaming PC on Twitter, as he said he wanted to give one out to the public, after he took care of his community first.
As soon as his fans and fellow streamers heard of his plans, they were quick to praise him for his charitable actions.

Some were also moved that even though McMillin just moved out of his trailer house, he was quick to focus on giving back to his community.
Guy literally just moved out of a trailer & he’s already donating so much to give back to the community. Another legendary moment to his incredible year

One person who took part in the BIPOC tournament was also amongst those leaving kind words to McMillin, thanking the streamer for making it happen.
It was great to participate in the BIPOC tourney, thank you for making it happen!

These good deeds were brought to fruition with the help of gaming brand MSI who ‘handled all the logistics’, according to McMillin.
McMillin is best known for being a top Apex Legends player competing for FURIA Esports, a Brazilian esports organisation.
He has around 400,000 followers on Twitch and from time to time he also streams Overwatch 2.
More: Twitch
Not long ago Twitch streamer turned YouTuber Ludwig also managed to raise a considerable amount of money through a charity livestream on his channel.
In a strange turn of events, he also got a life changing tattoo, as part of his stream, which didn’t leave YouTube’s CEO too impressed.
