Hamza Yassin is still coming to terms with his Strictly Come Dancing 2022 victory after lifting the glitterball trophy in Saturday night’s glitzy finale.
The 32-year-old wildlife cameraman and presenter beat Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez to the coveted prize in emotional scenes, along with his professional dancer Jowita Przystal.
While almost 24 hours have passed since the beloved BBC show ended for yet another series, Hamza remains in total shock by his win and is ‘still trying to comprehend what happen last night’.
Taking to Instagram to reflect on his triumph, Hamza took a moment to heap praise on his partner Jowita, describing her as an ‘angel disguised as a human being’ and a ‘ray of sunshine’.
‘Thank you for your trust and guidance throughout this incredible journey,’ he penned. ‘You shone a light for me that got me through some tough weeks and you have been by my side every step of the way.
‘You will go on to do great things in your life. It was my pleasure to be your student. I will forever be grateful for how you have changed my life.’
Hamza also went on to thank the Strictly team for giving him the opportunity of a lifetime, before moving on to acknowledge the judges, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood.
He continued his post by paying tribute to the British public. ‘To everyone who voted for us throughout the last 13 weeks, we could not have done it without you,’ he wrote.
‘Your support means the world to us. You are simply the best.’

‘You are ALL winners! I am thankful to have had the chance to get to know you wonderful people. This is not the end but the beginning of a lifetime of friendships, dinners and celebrations.
‘From the bottom of my heart thank you very much. Pigeon-toed Hamza. Xxx.’
Of course, Hamza’s post was met with huge love and applause, with many famous faces rushing to comment.
