LadBaby has praised Martin Lewis’ actually surprisingly good singing voice as they team up in a bid for Christmas number one – becoming the first people ever allowed to rework Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas?
Social media star Mark Hoyle, the man behind LadBaby, has already topped the festive chart for four consecutive years, with his releases raising money for UK hunger and poverty charity the Trussell Trust.
This year, money from the single – named Food Aid – will be split between the Trussell Trust and the Band Aid Trust.
Mark says he recruited MoneySavingExpert founder and Good Morning Britain host Martin because he knows all about the ‘struggles that are facing a lot of families’.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, he said: ‘We wanted to get someone involved that knows about the struggles that are facing a lot of families at the minute. He more than most helps everyone.
‘He has helped me when I wanted to get my mortgage. He was the person I turned to, and I think a lot of people do.’

Praising the financial journalist on his vocal skills, Mark continued: ‘He was great and he can sing really well. Everyone was blown away by him. We gave him the Bono line and he delivered.
‘When he first came in we had to encourage him to sing and by the end of it we had to tell him to stop.’
The music video for the single features the Band Aid All Stars, a group of celebrity lookalikes, including Stormzy, Boy George, Adele, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Liam and Noel Gallagher, Sir Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John.

Ed and Sir Elton teamed up with Mark and his wife Roxanne, known as LadBaby Mum, last year on the novelty single Sausage Rolls For Everyone.
Last year, LadBaby became the first artist in Official Charts history to score four consecutive Christmas number ones – beating The Beatles and the Spice Girls, who have both had three.
Their campaign started in 2018 with a reworking of Starship’s We Built This City, dedicating it to sausage rolls instead of rock ‘n’ roll.
The theme continued in 2019 when they covered Joan Jett and the Blackhearts I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, renaming it to – you guessed it – I Love Sausage Rolls.

Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ was next to get the LadBaby revival in 2020, reworked into Don’t Stop Me Eating.
The married couple have previously raised more than £1.2million for the Trussell Trust through their chart-topping endeavours and branded partnerships.
