Jude Bellingham would be the ‘perfect fit’ for Manchester United’s midfield and make the Red Devils ‘incredibly tough to defend against,’ believes Louis Saha.
The Frenchman reckons the England international would complete an immense midfield three alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, which is difficult to argue against.
The problem for Manchester United is that a number of other clubs are also very interested in the Borussia Dortmund sensation and there is set to be a serious scrap for his signature this summer.
The likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in the 19-year-old, as are other clubs but their chances of signing him are slimmer.
It will be tough for Manchester United to persuade Bellingham that Old Trafford is the best destination for him, but Saha thinks he would be the ideal signing for manager Erik ten Hag.
‘For quite a few years now, Manchester United have been a team who have lacked energy and fitness in games, and have been outrun in matches, which is not normal if you’re trying to return to the top, so that is something that Jude Bellingham would be able to bring in if he came to United,’ Saha told Paddy Power.
‘Jude would be able to pick out the right passes to the more agile players, in a similar way to what Bruno Fernandes does by being a box-to-box midfielder.
‘Manchester United would be an incredibly tough team to defend against if they had Jude Bellingham and Bruno Fernandes in midfield together, with Casemiro sitting behind them as cover for the defenders.
‘I would love to see Jude Bellingham at Manchester United, not only as a fan but also because he’d be the perfect fit in the midfield.’
Bellingham is under contract at Dortmund until 2025 and does not have a release clause in his contract. Bids are expected to be worth at least £100m in the summer when the big guns start trying to offer him the most appealing move away from Germany.
