Michael Beale has revealed one of the changes he will make as Rangers boss will be playing with two strikers – and he insisted no one’s position is safe.
The tough-talking Englishman has promised big changes at Ibrox and he is starting off by ensuring the club will have more firepower as they try to claw back Celtic’s nine-point lead at the top of the Premiership table.
Beale, who takes his Gers Premiership bow as they host Hibs tonight, said: ‘I want to play with two strikers at times. You should expect that in the coming games, that we play with two strikers. That’s a hint about what’s coming.
‘I want more strikers on the pitch, more goalscorers. We’ll look to improve and no one is safe because I don’t want to bring any fillers into the squad.
‘I only want to bring in people who can start. I have my own opinion on that, it might differ from opinions from one or two months ago.
‘It is important that I give everybody an opportunity but I want to strengthen the squad and in every single position I think we can improve the squad, like most managers would say.
‘There are some players that are really important to Rangers but I won’t hesitate to bring in someone who is stronger for the starting 11.’
Centre-back duo Connor Goldson and Ben Davies are back in training but Beale refused to confirm if they would be in the squad for the visit of Hibs.
Goldson suffered a thigh tear against Liverpool in mid-October, while Davies is also nearing a comeback after missing the last game before the break.
Beale said: ‘They both trained. Connor has not been available for a long time, Ben for a shorter time.

‘I wouldn’t say they were 100 per cent for the game but both have returned to training and it is now about getting them ready to play 90 minutes.
‘They are available for selection but I won’t give you the squad.’
Beale also revealed Tom Lawrence and John Souttar should be ready come the middle of January. Both have been out since near the start of the season and the boss is also hoping striker Kemar Roofe could return soon.
Beale said: ‘We are looking at around mid-January for Tom Lawrence and John Souttar to be returning. We also have Kemar Roofe back in training.’
