A gunman fired shots at an ex-Manchester city player’s home before fleeing the scene.
Armed police were called to Fitzroy Simpson’s detached home in Stratton, Wiltshire, at 8.15pm yesterday.
A police helicopter and dog unit were sent out but the suspect is still at large.
The home, garden and large green space behind were all cordoned off for the crime scene.
Search dogs were drafted in to comb the area and find the gun but it hasn’t been found.
Mr Simpson played in the Premier League for Manchester City from 1992 to 1995, and represented Jamaica internationally before retiring from football in 2008.
