France star Benjamin Pavard has put Manchester United on red alert after telling Bayern Munich that he wants to leave the club.
The World Cup winner joined the Bundesliga giants in 2019 from Stuggart for a fee of around £35m.
The Frenchman has primarily operated as a right-back during his time at the Allianz Arena, despite his preference to play centrally.
The signing of Mattijs De Ligt has pushed Pavard further down the pecking order in regards to playing at centre-back and the Frenchman now feels it’s time to move on.
The 26-year-old has 18 months to run on his deal in Bavaria, meaning Bayern’s last chance to fetch a top fee for the defender will come in the summer.
United showed interest in Pavard last summer, but Erik ten Hag also views him as a right-back.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is yet to start a match under the Dutchman after losing his place to Diogo Dalot.
United will cash in on the former Crystal Palace man if they find a replacement.
The Red Devils’ priority in the January trasnfer market is to sign a new forward following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old’s contract was mutually terminated following a controversial interview he gave to Piers Morgan.
However, though United are set to save £16m in wages by offloading Ronaldo, the club spent £100m above their budget last summer and they’re wary of the need to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
