The Traitors viewers are disappointed Alex Gray didn’t ditch the faithfuls, claiming she could have ‘really stirred up the pot.’
For the first time in the show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the traitors were given the option to either murder a rival or to invite a player to their team.
Amanda and Wilfred opted to expand their alliance and decided to extend an anonymous invitation to the presenter and actor, based on her ‘intelligence and charisma.’
Thursday’s nights episode saw Alex open the invite as the nation waited with bated breath to find out whether she had accepted.
But the 26-year-old, after a short time deliberating, decided not to swap teams, explaining she’d seen ‘how heavy the crown of being a traitor weighs.’
She continued: ‘And after experiencing how intense it is just to be a faithful, I don’t think I’d be able to do it.
‘I may end up regretting the decision but as a faithful I believe could stay all the way. For that reason will politely decline the offer.
Viewers of BBC One’s murder mystery reality TV show, however, were taken aback by Alex’s choice, with many arguing she should’ve joined Amanda and Wilfred.
One fan said they were ‘disappointed’ Alex stayed put, while another complained she had ‘wasted’ a vital opportunity.

‘Alex is crazy for not accepting the traitors’ offer,’ another remarked, a sentiment that was echoed by fourth, who wrote simply: ‘Alex ??!!!’
Many others said they were ‘surprised’ Alex wasn’t tempted, although several said they ‘respected’ the ‘honourable’ decision.
Would you have been tempted by the offer?

It would be difficult to know if the traitors are the safer bet, having thrown one of their members under the bus.
Last episode, the traitors began turning against each other as Will publicly accused Alyssa of being a traitor, knowing full well that she was – as was he, and voted her off, as did Amanda.

Alyssa, speaking to cameras, said she couldn’t believe he had betrayed her when they were supposed to be on the same team, but Wilf, shrugging, said they ‘had’ to get a traitor in order to get people off his back.
The Traitors continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.
