Love Life has been cancelled on HBO Max (Picture: HBO)
Love Life fans have been left heartbroken after confirmation the anthology series has been cancelled on HBO Max and will be removed from the streaming platform.
It was announced on Monday night that the plug had been pulled on the original scripted drama, which starred Anna Kendrick in season one and William Jackson Harper in season two.
Both chapters of the beloved rom-com followed a different person from their first romance until their last romance, with Kendrick’s character Darby Carter taking the reins for the debut.
Season two followed Harper’s character, book editor Marcus, with Jessica Williams, Punkie Johnson, and Chris ‘Comedian CP’ Powell also joining the cast.
Understandably, many are devastated by the decision, including creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner Sam Boyd, who said: ‘Bummed that this is now a thing that can happen!

‘Gonna try to figure out somewhere else for it to live, so it doesn’t just **not exist anymore**, but no matter what, I’m SO proud of it and SO grateful to everyone who worked on it & everyone who watched.
‘This show changed my life.’
Fans are also furious that the show will soon be wiped from the streamer and are desperately calling for it to be picked up by another network.
‘Wow not only was Love Life cancelled but it is also being removed from HBO Max, like it never even happened,’ one shocked fan wrote.
‘Hate this can be the new normal. makes me wanna invest in physical media again.’
‘I’ve just read @HBO cancelled Love Life,’ another said. ‘Someone needs to pick that up immediately. I want to see more relationship journeys that are both gutting and reassuring in their authenticity! I’m ready!’
Another wrote in total shock: ‘Love Life was a perfect series, and I cannot believe HBO Max canceled it. I can think of 3 other shows that deserve to be canceled before this!’
It has not yet been confirmed when Love Life will leave HBO Max, but UK fans are able to enjoy the show on BBC iPlayer for the time being.
There has been a spate of TV shows being cancelled in recent months, including Westworld which was axed last month after four seasons on HBO.
Bosses confirmed the news in a statement, which read: ‘Over the past four seasons, Lisa and Jonah have taken viewers on a mind-bending odyssey, raising the bar at every step.
