Boy George has admitted that he threatened to leave the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle on no less than four separate occasions.
The 80s pop singer, 61, first entered the camp on day one as the series returned to Australia. He was eliminated after 15 days, finishing 8th.
His time in the jungle was marred by controversy and the occasional feud, particularly with Charlene White and Matt Hancock.
Upon leaving the jungle, the former Culture Club frontman, whose real name is George O’Dowd, said he was ‘ready to leave’ the long-running reality series and get back home.
Now, in a new interview, he’s revealed he’s surprised that he didn’t ‘pull a Gemma Collins’ and prematurely leave camp of his own accord.
Speaking to The Sun, Boy George shared: ‘I am a bit of a stomper-outer, I spent the whole of the 80s saying I was going to leave Culture Club.

‘I was amazed how I was able to stop myself from doing a Gemma Collins. I can remember watching her quit and thinking, “That could be me”‘.
He continued: ‘The jungle is designed to drive you crazy and it works,
because everything in there is impossible.’
The Karma Chameleon hitmaker then went on to describe an off-camera incident in which he demanded a buggy to drive him to the top of a hill.

Fellow campmate Sue Cleaver was allowed the use of a buggy to escort her to various parts of the set – for example, from camp to the trial area.
Boy George said that, as a 61-year-old asthmatic, he felt he should be entitled to the use of a buggy to travel the ‘miles’ back to camp.
He admitted: ‘Once I got in the buggy I was over it and I felt like a total nana. I had to apologise to the security guard later in the car.’

After leaving the jungle, Boy George was joined by Chris Moyles for a much-needed grooming session with his barber.
In a video uploaded to social media, Chris said he’d paid a visit to Hamilton, the man responsible for doing Boy George’s ‘back, sack, and crack once a week’.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is available to stream on ITVX.
