How much will he reveal? (Picture: ITV)
The day that Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) have been dreading arrives – Killer Kyle (Huey Quinn) cracks and speaks to the police in Emmerdale.
Amy and Moira have been working tirelessly to protect Kyle from the consequences of his actions, a nigh on impossible job with the boy so traumatised. A visit to his dad in prison proves to be a big mistake and the catalyst for Kyle’s unravelling as his guilt consumes him.
The clues that Kyle is breaking have been there for a while; the memorial he built in the shed, his reluctance to go to school. Now he’s ready for a full-on meltdown that will put everyone around him at risk.
Keeping an eye on Kyle is a round-the-clock job, and one second of distraction could be the undoing of everything. Moira and Amy want to give him as much normality as possible and discuss taking him and Isaac to the choir event. Amy is seriously concerned about letting him out of her sight, but she fights that gut instinct and lets him go.
They all go together and enjoy their time away from the farm, getting into the Christmas spirit and having a jolly old time, momentarily forgetting a man is dead at the hands of Kyle.
And then Amy’s nightmare comes true – she turns her back for one second and he goes missing. After a frantic search, hearts drop as they spot him speaking with PC Swirling about Cain (Jeff Hordley). A sense of doom sinks over them as they hurry to end the conversation, but this in itself is bad news – the astute bobby picks up on their odd behaviour and makes a mental note.

Back at Butlers the two mums try to work their magic in coaxing Kyle into revealing what was said to the officer, but this causes him to clam up further. Moira and Amy decide he just needs a normal and brilliant Christmas, and set about making plans.
But they are just burying their heads in the sand. As PC Swirling senses he’s onto something, could it be Amy and Moira’s own behaviour that brings their world crashing down instead of Kyle’s?
The one thing she’s worked desperately to stop from happening.
