The semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing was a tearful night for Hamza Yassin.
Wildlife cameraman Hamza nailed two dances on Sunday night, starting with an energetic Charleston before a change of pace with a gorgeous waltz.
The Scottish TV star glided around the ballroom floor with pro partner Jowita Przystał to What the World Needs Now by Burt Bacharach, which scored 37 points.
Having topped the leaderboard, Hamza struggled to hold in his tears while chatting to host Claudia Winkleman about his time on Strictly.
The 32-year-old began shedding tears after describing his experience as ‘really beautiful.’
‘Thank you to everybody. It’s just been an amazing journey,’ he hailed.

But the tears kept flowing as his professional partner was asked why he deserves a place in next week’s final.
‘First time when I met you, I asked your for the trust and the energy and you gave me much more than that,’ she began.
‘Seeing you every day, going out of your comfort zone, and working so hard and giving me 120% every time is amazing.
But, what’s made me the proudest teacher in the world is how you always go there on the night and you dance from the heart, thank you for that.’

When it came to his feedback from the panel, despite receiving glowing scores for his second routine, one judge did point out some mistakes.
Head judge Shirley Ballas said: ‘I think I’ve probably given you more 10s than anyone… but today you’re a bit twisted. There were some errors I have never seen you make.’
However, fellow judge Motsi Mabuse was on hand to lift his spirits back up.
She described Hamza as the ‘man of the night’, adding: ‘We need more people like Hamza. Beautiful, soft, pure, authentic, Jowita and you to watch is just a gift. Whatever happens, be proud.’

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood said: ‘Some people dance the steps, you dance the music and I love that.’
Hamza’s second dance followed his Charleston to Pencil Full of Lead by Paolo Nutini, which narrowly missed the perfect score by earning 39 points.
The audience and judges were on their feet after the star, who was sporting a tartan number, completed his Scottish themed routine.
Describing the fun performance, Hamza said: ‘Pure joy, energy, excitement, lifts, what more could you ask for. Absolutely love it.’

Craig said the pair’s lifts were ‘absolutely crazy spectacular’ and ‘full of detail’, joking: ‘You were very brave, darling wearing a kilt in a Charleston.’
Motsi said the dance was ‘exceptional’, while Shirley said: ‘You make everything look so light airy, it can be powerful but there is never a heavy stuck feeling, I loved it.’
As one of the favourites to lift the glitter ball trophy next week, has Hamza done enough to make the final?
Strictly Come Dancing results air Monday on BBC One.
