The Traitors star Alex Gray has called the explosive breakfast scene in which her boyfriend Tom Elderfield revealed their secret relationship ‘one of the worst day of my life’.
Actress Alex and magician Tom had been keeping their relationship under wraps from the rest of the group, while trying to get to know the other Traitors in Claudia Winkleman’s new game show and figure out who’s been lying to them.
However, during Tuesday’s episode, Tom exposed their secret to the rest of the group, sparking a lot of drama.
The contestants had been involved in a heavy discussion on who they thought The Traitor was, and when Alex’s position came under threat, Tom let go of the big secret.
‘Guys straight up, this is a lot,’ he began, telling everyone at breakfast: ‘Obviously we’ve got three people on the line here, I love you all, Alex isn’t a traitor straight up, she’s my girlfriend.’

As the rest of the group were in clear shock over the secret unfolding, with Alex’s face making it clear she wasn’t ready for the truth to come out, Tom continued: ‘We came in here as a couple, to try and find Traitors, we tried to come apart separately, hear different stories.
‘She is a Faithful 100 per cent, I am Faithful 100 per cent.’
The pair were then accused of being liars, with their co-star Matt bursting into tears at the scene.

Watching it all back unfolding, Alex took to Twitter to write: ‘Can I just say this was one of the worst days of my life.’
She later penned: ‘Oh wait no it wasn’t just a dream. That all really did just happen.’
‘You both lied to me, to my face. That makes me suspicious of both of you and I’m upset,’ Matt said, before putting his head in his hands and sobbing.
He told cameras: ‘I didn’t come in here thinking I was going to find myself a girlfriend or anything like that. It’s literally just the fact she’s lied to me. I would trust everyone until they cross me. And when they cross me they lose my trust and that’s it.’

It had been no secret that Matt had a hopeful crush on Alex, who had previously admitted flirting to ‘throw the bait’.
Later, Alex and Matt got the chance to speak alone, with Alex apologising for not telling him she had a boyfriend as part of their strategy for winning the game and prize money.
‘I think you’re amazing, I think you’re really cool. I want to be friends with you outside of this,’ she said. ‘It upset me to see you so hurt.’

‘You guys played me quite well,’ he said, as Alex insisted they hadn’t ‘played’ him.
‘The reason I was so upset earlier wasn’t just because I found out you have a boyfriend,’ Matt insisted. ‘You had broken that trust. That’s what upset me.’
‘I don’t care about what happened. I was upset and emotional because of everything else that was going on. But I still love you and I always will,’ he said.
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
