Some of Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie’s personal items are due to be auctioned off following her death at the age of 79.
The auction, set to happen on December 3 and 4, was organised before McVie’s death, with her involvement.
Julien’s Auctions have confirmed that the event will go ahead, with McVie’s charity MusiCares, an organisation that aims to provide a safety net of critical health and welfare services to the music community, benefitting.
Darren Julien, President and CEO of Julien’s, said in a statement: ‘We are saddened with the news that Christine McVie passed away today.
‘We worked with the legendary Christie McVie and her team for the past year in curating a world class auction set to take place on December 3 celebrating her amazing life and career and supporting her charity MusiCares.
‘It was important to Christine that MusiCares, a charity close to her heart to help other musicians in need, would greatly benefit from her auction. With fondness we recall seeing Christine perform with Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall in 2018 as recipients of the MusiCares Person of the Year Award.
‘It is now our mission to make this auction a fitting tribute to the legacy of one of the greatest singers and musicians of our time.’
The auction includes various items of Fleetwood Mac paraphernalia, including a collection of McVie’s vintage books, and a T-shirt reading: ‘Christine F***king McVie.’
It also includes signed photos, some of Mick Fleetwood’s notebooks and set lists, instruments of the band’s, and some of their iconic outfits.
McVie had advertised the auction on her social media, recently writing on Instagram: ‘This is a first for John, Mick and myself. So looking forward to it and hope you are too! 🕊🎹’.

Following the announcement, her fellow bandmates – including Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood – shared a devastating tribute of their own across their official social media pages.
‘There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie,’ it began.
‘She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.
‘We were so lucky to have a life with her.
‘Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed.’
In a personal tribute, Stevie added: ‘A few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975, had passed away.
‘I didn’t even know she was ill … until late Saturday night. I wanted to be in London, I wanted to get to London – but we were told to wait.
‘So, since Saturday, one song has been swirling around my head, over and over and over. I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and so I’m singing it to her now.
‘I always knew I would need these words one day…It’s all I can do now.’
Beside handwritten lyrics to Hallelujah, by Haim, handwritten, she added: ‘See you on the other side my love. Don’t forget me. Always, Stevie.’
McVie’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
Fleetwood Mac was founded in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood – Christine officially signed up four years later, joining her former husband John McVie in the group.
Despite a tumultuous history and many line-up changes over the years, they became one of the most popular bands in history, with hits including Tusk, You Make Loving Fun and Dreams.
Rumours, arguably their best-known album, was released to huge acclaim in 1977, selling more than 40million copies around the world.
McVie split from John in 1976, with Rumours thought to be inspired by their divorce – but they maintained a professional relationship and friendship after going their separate ways.
The singer-songwriter, who also penned some of the band’s biggest hits, was among the members inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
However, she left Fleetwood Mac a short time later, following the death of her dad.
