I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas has admitted she was unsure about how genuine Matt Hancock was in the jungle.
The former health secretary sparked a lot of controversy during his stint on the reality show, but managed to make it to the final three, while Lioness Jill Scott was crowned Queen of the Jungle.
Hancock had been voted in by the public to do his first six bushtucker trials, and faced grillings inside the camp from the likes of Boy George.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk about how she felt about Hancock’s appearance in the jungle, Scarlette told us: ‘It’s really hard in the jungle because there are cameras on you 24/7.
‘So as much as you hope you get the real version of anybody, you don’t know because people could be putting on a front and trying to make sure that they come across a certain way.

‘So yes it was quite difficult when he first came in and yes everyone was like, “What do we do here?” but ultimately he got stuck in and he helped us and he won stars and that’s what we needed in the jungle.’
Scarlette added that when he first arrived in the jungle, she pulled Hancock aside.
‘I said, “In here we are a family and we’re going to work together, whether we’ll be friends outside of the jungle I don’t know but in here we’re a family, and as a family and as a camp we do well.”‘

She added that the camp are still messaging outside of the jungle, having all landed back home and now messaging on a Whatsapp group.
‘Yeah we’re all getting on really well, we were really tight in there,’ she told us.

Scarlette, who was the second person to be voted out of the jungle this year after Loose Women star Charlene White, admitted that she was ‘gutted’ when she left the camp.
She added: ‘But I was the least known person in there, so I understand people aren’t voting me off, they’re voting for their favourites. So if I’m not a favourite, there’s nothing I can do about that.’
